Football: the common markets and how they count in a bonus

Football is the sport with the most markets and the most activity at sportsbooks worldwide. That variety is useful, but it also multiplies bonus traps: low-odds markets that do not count, draws with refunds, early cash-outs. This page summarises the basic markets and shows how each is usually treated in a sports bonus's wagering.

Basic markets

MarketWhat you bet onBonus note
Match result (1X2)Home win, draw or away winStrong favourites may fall below minimum odds
Double chanceTwo of the three outcomesLow odds; often do not count
Draw no betRefund if the match is drawnRefunds usually do not count
Both teams to scoreWhether both sides scoreUsually counts if minimum odds are met
Total goalsOver or under X goalsAsian lines can produce half refunds
HandicapA virtual head start or deficitPartial refunds may not count

Regular time

Most markets settle on regular time, including stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalties. In knockout matches, «to qualify» is a different market from «match result». Read the market description before confirming.

Sports wagering example

Illustrative example, not a Jonbet condition: a bonus of 50, 6x wagering, minimum odds of 1.70. That is 300 in bets at 1.70 or above. Six singles of 50 at 1.90 meet the volume; a double chance at 1.30 does not count. If the terms require accumulators with three selections, singles do not qualify.

In-play

In-play odds change with every attack, and some promotions exclude in-play bets from wagering. Check first, and remember that live speed encourages impulsive decisions.

Busy fixture lists

Long seasons with midweek rounds make it tempting to bet on every match. With a short bonus deadline that can look convenient; in practice it multiplies what is at risk. Pick a few matches you genuinely follow and keep the bonus deadline secondary: if it cannot be met calmly, the bonus was not for you.

Bankroll management

Set a stake per bet and a weekly limit. Do not raise stakes to recover a bad weekend. Limit tools are in responsible gambling.

Frequently asked questions

Does extra time count in the match result?
Usually not. The match result market covers regular time plus stoppage time.
Does draw no bet count toward wagering?
If the bet is refunded, generally not. If it wins, it depends on minimum odds.
Can I use a bonus on in-play bets?
It depends on the promotion; some exclude in-play bets from wagering.
